Latest Obsessions

I felt like I needed to post something today so here are the things that happened today:

  • I woke up
  • I watched YouTube videos
  • I took a shower
  • I went to the spectrum and got CHIPOTLE & STARBUCKS
  • I came home and read a magazine
  • I caught a Mewtwo
  • And here I am.....
What a productive day huh? Anyways lately I've been doing the same routine over and over again so I guess here are MY latest "fad obsessions:"

SECRET GARDEN!

Not many K-dramas out lately, but this one is pretty good! It made me LOLOLing at some points and screaming at my laptop screen on the others. Hyun Bin and the other female lead (I forget her name) have great chemistry. Anyways I don't think it's as GOOD as the dramas I've watched previously like Gumiho, Shining Inhertiance (lol Lee Seung Gi themed here), Boys over Flowers.. and such. But if you just NEED something to watch. This would be it.

It offers nothing ORIGINAL in the story.. It's the usual rich boy falls in love with poor girl. But a plot twist that is there is that they switch bodies. (Which is the funny part!) Love love love.

WIRED MAGAZINE!

One of my New Years Resolutions was to "read" more and expand my mind ya know? Well I bought this magazine on recommendations by my cousins. It was a hefty 5 dollars for one copy! Where as if you subscribe to them it's 10 dollars for 12 issues! Anyways I figured I'd READ and see if it was good before I subscribed.

I read the first half of the magazine and it was kind of... bland? But I guess I'm not used to READING yet so boo. But then it gets interesting in the later articles about robots, and geekisms. WHICH I have to say... I TOTALLY LIKED. So I told my mom to subscribe to this magazine and now I wait for more to come! (And hopefully my TIME will come so I will read that too!)

Grasshopper COOKIES!

Zomg these are an exact DUPE for the Girl Scout Cookies Thin Mints. And since the Thin Mints are like once a year type of things.. I always crave them when the Girl Scouts aren't selling. The Fudge Shoppe cookies are CHEAPER and dare I say... BETTER than the Girl Scout cookies. Yeah that's ONE New Years Resolution out the door. (Cough eat healthy?) I eat like 6 of these at a time. I'd feel bad... but I don't. FML I'm going to die of diabetes aren't I?

THE UPDATE

"If you can't laugh at yourself, life's gonna seem a whole lot longer than you like."
Well, well, well... I haven't updated this blog in FOREVER. I guess I felt like "I'd do it later." Yeah procrastinator me. Anyways I feel like this blog will be like a diary... I can look back at it in the future and just laugh? Yeah I DON'T KNOW. DON'T JUDGE ME.

HERE WE GO MY LIFE IN THE PAST 3 MONTHS:

PROM 2010
Well, it really was the BOMB. Despite the setbacks and my pessimism, I say it was quite refreshing. I thought I'd be the awkward one because I wasn't part of the "wolfpack." (Yes, I call them that because they always travel in packs...like wolves!) But in turn, they all made me feel welcome. My date was... well he was my date. Just kidding, he really is too noble, to a point where I almost hate him for it. But in my mind, I think he wanted to go with someone else? (Again, me being a pessimist.) I don't really want to go through the 5 signs of awkwardness... Oh and afterwards we ate at BCD. LOL. Yes, food is all I ever think about. So here is a picture of what I ate for dinner at this fancy restraunt place:

GRADUATION / GRAD NIGHT
Well.. not much to be said? It is what it is. Grad Night was pretty bomb. When I got home from it, I was so sparkly, I put Edward Cullen to shame.

CANADA 2010
Unforgettable, FUN! It was cold when we got there, which was weird considering it was summer. Okay I admit, I was a BIT disappointed not seeing a person. But I guess it wasn't our time. It has been 10 years... doubt he even remembers me. *cough* JACKIE I know you're laughing inside. Anyways did you know that Canadians have microwaves in the food courts in case you are too cheap to buy the food there? HAHA FTW. here is some proof:
And they are so eco-friendly, they make you buy EVERYTHING. 25 cents for a plastic bag.. and A DOLLAR TO USE A SHOPPING CART REALLY? OOH and guess what I got? CURRY AND WASABI FLAVORED ICE CREAM. From the 200+ favors gelato place. FTW

Then I rode a ferry for the first time ever. And I went to Victoria's Secret Garden.. (It's not really called that, it's actually called Butchart Gardens..It's just more fun to say it how I say it) ANYWAYS. Lot's of pretty flowers like this one:

Summer 2010 has been okay I guess. Did not really do anything memorable, which is a waste. Hung out with a couple people / ate lots.

COLLEGE
Since I'm only taking 4/5 classes and each experience is different, so I'll break it down in those classes.

SOC 15: My first monday night class... LOLOL oh man. All girls, and like 6 and a half guys. I do not know anybody in that class..except oh wait for it... my ex best friend from elementary school! Why are we ex best friends you ask? Because I did something stupid and childish by help promote some hate club about her 6 years ago. And now karma has come back to bite me in the ass, but putting us in a sociology class ABOUT KIDS. I wonder what traumatic experience SHE will talk about. *sigh*

MATH 3A: First day, I did not know a soul. But I guess it doesn't matter because I know the material anyways. But second day was better because my friend petitioned into the class and I became more comfortable. Math will not be bad at all...because apparently I know way more than anybody else and I'm starting to meet new people. YAY.

WR 201: I know one person in that class. YAY improvement. Not much to say about that class yet, except I don't really think it'll be all that bad.

WR 280: I know the person who works at the front desk... Pretty chill office hours type of class. Will use that time to do my online music. LULZ

MUS 1: It's online ... not much to say except MUST NOT PROCRASTINATE.

Now that I think about it, I see a lot of familiar faces that are from my old high school.. and REALLY old faces from my elementary school friends... Is it creepy that I recognize them, but they don't recognize me? Who knows.

Last thoughts: YUP. that pretty much sums up everything from the past 3 months. I need a job :( No "deep thought" of the day. Too lazy to think really. I NEED TO START DOING HWK. GAH. Read more

Shaved Ice (YUM!)

“You can close your eyes to the things you do not want to see,
but you cannot close your heart to the things you do not want to feel.”

So today I basically did NOTHING at school. YET AGAIN. AP week starts on monday :(
lets see the schedule in advance:
05/03/10: AP Poli Sci in the Morning
05/05/10: AP Calc AB in the Morning
05/10/10: HELL DAY. AP Music Theory in the Morning, then AP Physics in the afternoon. (I'm guessing I don't get to eat lunch...)

What AP am I most worried? I'd have to say Music Theory for reasons I cannot sing -___-. And perhaps physics for reasons that I suck at it. And for both of them to be on the same day causes me so much stress...

To much furtherado.. However today I did do something fun! I went to the GUPPY HOUSE with two of my friends (:! Had some shaved ice *drool* condensed milk is the best ever!
Here are the pictures!
YUM shaved ice as it came out!

:( not pretty anymore. NOMNOM time!

all gone :( hehe how did 3 girls manage to eat ALL of that? (we didn't! there was too much fruit so we had to take it in a cup!)

MM look at the yummy 85 cakes :o

So now I'm going to do something different. I'm going to do some type of random survey thing (: But I think I'll at least learn a little from it? LET'S GO! WOOOPAH!

Letters to ____

The Question: What have you been wanting to say to a person/people but haven’t found the time/will-power/ability to say yet?

The Idea: A reverse-anonymous question activity, but with a purpose; these letters can be anything, they might be rants of anger, pleas for apology, a simple “how are you” to a rarely seen friend but for some reason haven’t gotten to yet.

The Rules/Purpose: After writing, you may NOT let these writings simply gather dust. You took the time to write them, so think about it. Are some meant to be said? Are some meant to be thought over to consider yourself? A letter unread or at least thought over is just a waste of time.

The Hope: to help repairing/building/any-ing social connection just a little bit easier. Start Writing. Maybe there’s a letter somewhere out there meant for you.

Dear ______,

I would first like to start off by saying how much I admire you. You are my idol. I want to be like you, sometimes too much like you that I forget who I am. As a matter of fact, everybody loves you. But do you know how much anguish that you've caused me? I have to live up to high expectations that not only my parents put on me, but also I put on myself. I am my own worst critic and I beat myself over the worst of things. We all have flaws, we all fight for what we want. It is time that I fight for what I want and not how to beat you at the game of life. Okay fine, you win in this lifetime But just wait until the next one I will come back with so much more fire. And now all I want to be is happy. I know you don't try to be amazing, but can you tone it down a little so comparisons can stop being made. And when we are together it doesn't feel degrading. You have a great, innocent heart and no matter how many times you've shown to be humble, it is still a proven fact that you are so much more amazing that I am. And now it shames me to say now that I enjoy the fact that we can part ways now. I'm sorry.

Welcome Back Linda!

“I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you.” – Roy Croft

Hello. Long time no see huh? Let's see..
I wonder if I go through a whole month in a nutshell.

Spring Break:
It was pretty awesome I guess. I went to the beach with two of my close, best friends (:
ate some yummy food.

then the next day we had a fail disney movie marathon! Only because we watched TWO out of the SIX disney movies that I had planned. (Lion King and The Hunchback of Notre Dame) Then we ended up watching She's the Man and a korean drama named Hearty Paws (so sad so sad). SOME OF MY FRIENDS CAME LATE *sigh* ahah oh funness. The Good memories.

CONVENTION:
Well I would have to say that last year's convention was better, however this one did have its perks. (: I got freaking sunburned/tanned from staying out too much doing nothing. It is quite sad that these are the last few moments I am going to have with these people. And I must say, I will have a special place for them in my heart. As usual, we played games, sardines, mafia, assassin, zip bong, and they even had a games room! I made a compilation of clips from the whole day if I ever feel nostalgia. (IT'S ON FACEBOOK!)
And as usual, this is apparently the food blog of mine. AND so, with that being said this is what i ate:

And today? Well today I didn't do anything really. I SHOULD be studying for APS. Butttt... BLEHH. I'm going to watch Glee later regardless. AHAHA. (: I SHOULD have gone somewhere to eat today..buttttt things sometimes fail.
I don't feel like being philosophical today. So I won't. Time to go back on the blogging trainwagon Linda! These are memories to be remembered. Read more

a little bit of sickness

Sick of being Tired, Tired of being Sick
The past week I ate went down with something funky. Sickness? Possibly. Stomach Flu? Maybe. Whatever it was I felt like gross inside.

Song of the moment:
I Believe In You - Tyler Hilton
Great song, and I guess inspirational in a sense.

After much deliberation throughout the week, I still could not fathom the idea of why I am currently so confused in heart, mind, and soul. It is probably because it's MARCH. The moment of truth comes out this month, and I guess I'm questioning my future. And I'm guessing my heart is distracting me from this harsh reality of growing up.

ON A BRIGHTER NOTE... Here is what I did not post last week due to my laziness/sickness:

A Week In Linda's Point of View:
Everyday I come to school at 7:00 AM. And this is my POV in the mornings. (yes it is bright I know)

I did some supercreeping. I saw this really cute asian boy with mismatch clothes. AHHA lime green helmet, blue pants, red shirt.

On Wednesday, I went out to support Make-A-Wish foundation by eating at VEGGIE GRILL. With Anna, Clarissa, Kumi, and Derek.

This is what I had, VEGGIE chicken nuggets and sweet potato fries *drool* and PUDDING. ANDD. Strawberry Ice Lemonade! YUMM! Too bad couldn't fully enjoy it. AKA sickness.

Then on Friday, I went to take Sticki Picki with my two oldest friends! (no not like 30 year-olds, as in LONG TIME BESTIES!)

Picture of one of the machines:

Pretty random, but when I went to Diamond Jamboree one time.. There was this Hobo sleeping next to our car. VERY SKETCHY.

Then Saturday I went to get MORE lollicup, take MORE sticki picki, and watched What A Girl Wants with the coolest people. (Ara, Kumi, Tiffany, and Paul) AND eat more 85 bread:

This is my bread that I never got to eat because Ara accidentally took mine: (mm honey cake)

And this is hers that I ate instead: But it was really good!

AND FINALLY
What did i do today? I donated blood. Therefore I saved 3 lives. WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY? Yeah donating didn't take as long as I thought it would. And I barely noticed. I was playing games and listening to music the whole time! Last time took me like 3 hours to donate blood. -__-
BATTLE SCARS!

AND now I'm done ranting for the day/week/whatever. And back to OMGPOP! And oh my. I am finished with my homework before 12 for once (: Maybe now I'll start Math and Latin....nahhh I'll just stick with OMGPOP! LATERS. Read more

food all day long

I think the story of my life pretty much sums up with FOOD ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT.
Like seriously. All my posts have food in them so far, but I can't help it :( I'm a hungry hungry viet girl with FOOD NEEDS!

So in the morning I went to this viet restruant called Binh Minh, which is in Garden Grove . I had to meet up with some uncles since we haven't seen them in quite a while.

For some reason, family no longer phases me. Well maybe THIS is just a phase. A really long one. I feel like I'm always being compared by some random family member. Which leads me to, I want to spend less and less time with them. My little cousins can sense my growing distance towards them even as they are growing up. They know how much I have loved them, and now wonder why "I am so boring." In truth, I guess I've always been this way. Lonely. Just lonely.

On a brighter note, MORE FOOD. So I had some Bun Vit Sao Mang, and Bun Cha HaNoi at the restraunt! (: nomnom.

Then, we went shopping at South Coast Plaza for some shopping. I did some stalking while I was waiting for my mom. Yeah BORED OKAY? An aerial view:

(: ME? WHO ME? I only did 20 dollars in damage! EHEHE YAY for deals. I got a grey cardigan from express for 6 dollars (originally 30 dollars!) and my fail camera phone gives it no justice of how cool it is it even has a hoodie!

Also from express, and also for 6 dollars, I got a really cool tank top! It has like a bunch of lace things in the middle which my camera does not show. Sadly:

Then I just got a plain, blue and white novcal-like-long-sleeve shirt for 7 dollars:

Lastly what I did today was go out to dinner to eat. At first I wanted to go eat sushi at some random Japanese place. But we never found it. So instead I suggested we eat at Koba Tofu House, which I have heard great things about. Man, eating there reminded me of BOF. Like re enacting my BOF life. Breaking the fish and eating all that kimchi (: They had pretty good Korean BBQ, and tofu soup. But oh my. Breaking the fish just reminded me of the time Gu Jun Pyo was at Jandi's house and her mom fed him the fish. Oh the random moments of life.
Blurry I know.

Deep thought for the day:
Why is it the world is so sad?

Are the happy people in life truly happy? Or are they deceiving the world, including themselves, and are trapped in an abyss of denial and sadness?

We may never know. Until then, I will wish them all the best of luck :/ And I may be included in this category at times, but I realize I am much more luckier than some, and it is time I learn to cherish that. Knowing me, I'm pretty stubborn.

And now, I am watching the Winter Olympics while playing OMGPOP. Lots of things to do tomorrow :( Loads of homework and no Monday off. WAHHH.
Up up and away!

clubapalooza

Well anything interesting today Linda?
Not really, except for CLUBAPALOOZA!

Which as always, is FREAKING HECTIC! I was helping out with the Make-A-Wish stand which was selling PASTA AND GARLIC BREAD. YUM!
*drool* too bad I didn't get to have any! We practically sold out the first 30 minutes :( so sad. SO HECTIC. GAHH. People yelling at me for food, me not giving right amount of change. Pasta spilling everywhere. Oh well, this is my last clubapalooza ever! How sad. Times on bay so fast.

Eh not a bad day at all. Even though I stayed up til 3 AM last night. Probably because I was playing OMGPOP with a couple of friends. But I also had a test and a quiz today. :( Not like I study anymore anyways. Oh and what else. OH I got free boba from this girl:
All in good reason, she lost a bet a while back (: Oh dear she is so creepy she blurred out my camera! Lulz. So now we have a new bet. Which I will win again. SECURING ME MORE FREE BOBA! RAWR.

So now I will either:
A) Watch the Winter Olympics
B) Play OMGPOP
C) Watch Boys Over Flowers
D) All of the above

Probably all of the above. OH and also, after I got home, I went into a massive food coma and passed out. (I had eaten dumplings, drank boba, ate fondue, and a pretty awesome red velvet cake all for 6 dollars! Woot for cheap food at clubapalooza!) I had a pretty awesome dream if I recall. I can't really say here, but I assure you. It was amazing.
Which concludes me with:

Would you rather have your pride broken or have a broken heart?
Personally, I'd rather have my heart broken, because by now I have had my heart broken several times. And at least then I could walk away with a sense of pride and dignity left. And if you have your pride broken, what are you left? What is your pride worth? How much are you willing to sacrifice to save a broken heart? Who are your real friends? Are they with you forever, or would they leave you in a heartbeat?

These are the questions that linger in my mind at all times. Sometimes I really do not know.
So keep your head up high dearest people, AND KEEP ON TROLLIN! (I couldn't help it! If you know this reference. I will love you for life!) Read more

random chicken nugget cravings

These past two days have been BORING. As in school day and night. (sleep in the day, play/work in the night) Anyways, here is a typical day in my life. (sort of):

What I am supposed to be doing right now: Calc homework, Latin homework, Study Latin, Physics homework

The FUN starts during lunch, where this girl ALWAYS EATS WITH ME UNINVITED. GUHH. (HAHA just kidding you know I /love/ you) Look at this appealing picture of her:

Then after school, I had a sudden chicken nugget craving, so we went out to the nearest McDonalds at school. AND omg school traffic is HORRIBLE! I had to wait like 10 minutes to get out of the parking lot alone. Never again. Once the bell rings, I am bolting out of here.

When we got there, I ordered a 20 piece Chicken nugget with small fries. WHICH WAS ONLY LIKE 6 DOLLARS. ZOMG FOR 20 PIECES. But yeah, so full afterwards.
Before:

Kumi still devouring that chicken nugget:

The finished product:

anyways, I hope I finish on time so I can sleep early. (HA highly unlikely...)

happy new year!

CHUC MUNG NAM MOI!

For the past two days have been a frenzy, filled with happiness, dissapointment, then laughter. It is all in the culture of the New Lunar Year. I can separate this into TWO (yes TWO) days of celebration. Each day ending with exhaustion. I am writing this blog now while watching my beloved BOYS OVER FLOWERS. (which i am on episode 18 if anyone is wondering)

Day 1 (02/13/09): Tet Festival
Sadly, me and my VSAers were ready to volunteer on that day. But *cough* some jerks told us that we needed a call to "volunteer." This totally pissed me off for like a while. I mean we turned in those forms on time and did everything they said we should. Then he said we were probably one of those people who "did not pay attention." Uh sure. Sure. Anyways, we got over it. But NEW rides had to be arranged because we were expecting to volunteer for a good 8 hours. Anyways, we were there anyways, why not have a little fun? (boo. no free shirt/ticket) YAY for free commercialized stuff! And here are some pictures of my adventures: (taken with my camera phone)

This is the stage at the Tet Festival. SO MANY PEOPLE!
YUM. MY FISHBALLS (:

The Cauldron thing with FIRE !

The Cauldron again:

Some statue I found mildly amusing:

Caption: "I CHOOSE YOU PIKACHU!" (P.S like the Vietnam in the back?)

The tents!

WOOHOO we made it on the magazine! (even though we did not even volunteer)

Then after I went to my grandparent's house where I had some MORE food.
This is a picture of the soup before it was devoured:
And then I proceeded to eat Hu Tieu: (with meatballs and xa xiu):

Day 2 (02/14/09): Valentines Day / New Years
I don't even know why I woke up at 2:35 PM. Like I think I was having this cool game-dream where I was in a jungle. Anyways I spent 3 hours watching the Winter Olympics. (so entertaining) I didn't feel like doing much today. (Which I should be doing homework) Blahblah. I went to my grandparents house again. AND YET DEVOURED MORE FOOD AND GOT MORE MONEY. (this is the life)

EGG ROLLS!

Banh Bot Loc Before Unwrapping:

Banh Bot Loc After Wrapping (SO GOOD):

Then finally, I stopped eating after I ate my bowl of PHO! (so Viet so Viet):

And after waiting for my food to dissociate in my stomach. We then played Bo Cua Ca Cop, where I lost a bunch of money :( YOU LET ME DOWN FISH/DEER!

Then played some game where we count the cards. (I forget what it's called) And now I am home watching BOF.
OH YES. the valentines aspect of this day. Absolutely nothing. None. Nada. NIL. ZILCH. Yes that is how lonely I am. :/ Oh if only. Oh wait. There is GU JUN PYO. And now back to my BOF!
